Testing today (r6121) the bug seems to be fixed.

I think this bug report can be closed

I ran into the same bug (r6101)

I assume line 1136 of frontend.c is somehow connected to this bug:
widgSetButtonState(psWScreen, FE_P0 + getPlayerColour(0), WBUT_LOCK);

Starting WZ r5670, Options -> Game Options crashes with the following message:

error |000000002516: [widgSetButtonState] Couldn't find button or clickable widget by ID
error |000000002516: [widgSetButtonState] Assert in Warzone: widget.c:1080 (!"Couldn't find widget by ID"), last script event: '<none>'
warzone2100: widget.c:1080: widgSetButtonState: Assertion `!"Couldn't find widget by ID"' failed.
