So we can close this one as it is a duplicate of bug #8878 and the other things are not bugs?

Please create an own bug report for every bug unless you know for sure that both bugs have the same cause (the same piece of code not doing what it is intended to do).

It is not related to kills, per se. While the original Warzone worked this way since 2.1 a partial kills system is used, whereby experience is awarded for every shot of damage done to an enemy vehicle.

So if there are two enemy units and one of yours and your unit does 50% damage to both of them then it will have a total of 1 'kill'. It is actually slightly more complex than that (the amount of experience awarded is weighted — determined by the 'quality' of both units).

As for recycled experience not being saved, this is a known issue. I suspect it is due to float to integer conversion. I'll look into it.

Two veterancy-related bugs: My friend reported a while back that if you recycle a unit with kills, then save, quit and load the game, the information is lost and the next unit built will have 0 kills. I decided to verify this so I could report it here.

I encountered another bug en route: I built four machinegun tanks and killed an enemy truck with them; no experience gained. I also killed an enemy tank and didn't get any experience. However when I killed a second tank, I got a kill, but a third tank yielded no experience again. There was no obvious differences between the situations in which I killed each tank.

I recycled the tank with 1 kill and built a fresh tank. The new tank had 1 kill as expected. I then recycled that tank, saved the game, quitted out and loaded the game. On building another tank it had 0 kills, confirming my friend's bug report.

On a side note, could information about veterancy be added to the manual: in particular, a list of how many kills you need to achieve each level, and what each level brings (eg extra HP). This is of course only a minor thing.
