quoting Martinxyz'Am I right with that guess?'
It looks to be a good solution.

I took care last weeks to watch this behavior while painting in depht. I'm almost sure, I lift the pen off the surface each time I want to pick a color, even really fast ; but here what I observate :
The pen-nib metal spring in the pen ( wacom pen ) don't have time to release totally the nib to the state 'pressure=0%' when I start to press 'CONTROL' ( mainly cause I assign CTRL to the side button of the stylus to pick faster ).

So it's sure : I start to press 'control' surely too early in some millisecond :)

I guess painting at the location where the color was picked is just the solution that Vladimir was proposing, and not the intention of the user.

I expect that the intention of the user would be to paint a nearby spot with the new color. When working fast, it is easier to move to that location without lifting the stylus completely off the surface (but still being well below the click threshold). The faint stroke produced by this would be an acceptable side-effect.

Am I right with that guess?

I think the actual behavior is good.

This proposition allow the user to paint at the place he just picked the color . Painting after releasing CTRL , mean painting at the x and y position where the color get previously picked, right? or I'm wrong. If it's the case as I imagine now, I think it's not useful.

When using the color picker with Ctrl-Click, you have to release both Ctrl and Pressure before you can paint again. To allow faster working, releasing Ctrl alone should be enough.

(Bugreport moved from the last comments of Bug #14871)

(Implementation Note: doing this right now would lead to interpolated "ghost lines" starting at the point where the cursor was before color picking started. Should be possible to fix somehow.)
