Already fixed in git, but closed with the release of MyPaint 1.1.0. Please reopen if this problem reoccurs with the new stable release!

Ball is rolling again on the OpenRaster specification, so time to implement this. Initial implementation (rather trivial, of course):

How's this going? I'd quite like this to be saveable, so how should we get things moving? Do you want discussion to happen in the OpenRaster bug tracker or on the CREATE mailing list?
The concepts seem fairly simple to specify.

Yes, we should do this. Just need to propose and reach consensus on addition to the OpenRaster spec first.

Thanks Joshua, this is a good reminder and tip to avoid doing the mistake. It will help me for sure.

I have this problem, so I started saving an extra layer on top with its visibility disabled. You can't mistakenly paint on hidden layers and the cursor is a good reminder to pick a new layer. Not a real fix, but it helps some.

Actually Mypaint doesn't save in the *.ora files the selected layer ( selected when saving )as well as the 'status' locked or not of the layer. This would be useful.
I have trouble for the moment opening my files who all contain a top layer with guides for printing and I always do the msitake to open them and start to paint... but wrongly on my "top guides layer", because Mypaint actual behavior is to unlock all layers at startup, and select the top one.
Thanks if this can get corrected.
