1. I have the same issue, however, only with my trackpad. If I use a tablet I get smooth lines. As far as recognizing multiple input devices, that feature isn't implemented at all. [1]

2. Yes, it seems like gtk native inherited the problem from gtk x11.

3. Yeah, that's why I suggested to disable the toolbar on the mac, and only use the menubar.

As far as jpegs not saving, that's probably my fault. I guess I forgot to include the jpeg dylib, silly me. I've attached it if you really want it.
I had this issue mainly because the "fix all mac+gtk+python" script is supposed to handle the creation and bundling of the entire app, but fails it way too many cases. Therefore, to create an installer, I essentially have to copy all of the dylibs over myself. Again, sorry about that.

I am using the Wacom Bamboo Tablet. I just reinstalled the latest drivers from Wacom (bamboo_setup_web0407final.dmg) this morning. I get the same results when using a mouse.

It would seem to me that Instead of core Pointer, It should at least say Wacom....

Just to make sure: what input device are you using? Have you tried a different pointer device (mouse, tablet, touchpad)? Does this give you a different event rate?

Please fill separate bugs for separate issues.

Sounds to me like your main problem is the lack of support for pressure sensitive devices, which is a known problem with the Quartz version of GTK+. You either have to use the X11 version, or wait (mitch from GIMP project said he was planning to work on that).

Chances are that you will see a better event rate when this is done. Still, I think 25 events per second is terribly low. My standard mouse reports 125 events per second on Linux, and 8ms between timestamps, without many outliers.

My guess would be that events are first queued up somewhere, and then timestamped, somewhere inside GTK+, where it is too late to get accurate timestamps. I think GTK+ does combine multiple events into a single one when they have the same timestamp (and if it doesn't, mypaint will).

@Jon Nordby

The Problem is pronounced starting at medium speed. If I draw really slow, It is hard to notice, IF I draw fast It's really visible. I can't even write with it as it is. I submitted the debug information below.

2) About 2 - the last anyone looked at it was a year ago. Does everyone who uses a mac have the same problem? Since there are not a lot of bug reports I am guessing I am a rare case, therefore I am wondering if I am experiencing different results. Do you still have this bug?

3) No new information, other than the fact that it does not work.

4) another bug. I haven't taken the time to check to see if it is already submitted, and it probably is already submitted, but I am not at a place where I can look at the moment. I can't save JPEG files. I get the following error, even though I have plenty of space on my disc.

Unable to save: Unable to load image-loading module: /opt/mypaint/lib/gdk-pixbuf-2.0/2.10.0/loaders/libpixbufloader-jpeg.so: dlopen(/opt/mypaint/lib/gdk-pixbuf-2.0/2.10.0/loaders/libpixbufloader-jpeg.so, 1): Library not loaded: /opt/mypaint/lib/libjpeg.8.dylib
Referenced from: /opt/mypaint/lib/gdk-pixbuf-2.0/2.10.0/loaders/libpixbufloader-jpeg.so
Reason: image not found
Do you have enough space left on the device?

So I look at the Debug panel, and there is no Pressure sensitivity and it says that I am using a Core Pointer instead of a Wacom Tablet.

The motion column shows either 20, 24 events or something close to that.

The time stamp spacing keeps changing so these are numbers from a couple different moments. Maybe there is a way to record the time stamp spacing? I don't know so I don't know if this will be useful. 72,66,62,60,68,8,81,62,68

To measure the problem, you can check how many motion events mypaint gets per second:

Draw large circles as fast as possible. What is the number of motion events (per second) that is displayed? How does the "event time spacing" look?

Hi. Please only raise one issue per bug-report.

2) is tracked as bug #15566 and 3) is as you mention tracked in bug #19117. If you have more information about these issues, please add it to those reports

So, to the issue.
- Do the lines appear jagged no matter what the zoom-level is?
- Do the lines also appear jagged when drawing with the mouse?
- How pronounced is the problem? A screen-shot from drawing relatively slow, and one for relatively quick might be helpful.

I have OSX 10.72 (Lion), and I just installed Mypaint using the installer provided on the website installing version MyPaint 1.0.0.

1) When I draw a line, instead of being smooth and curvy, it is a series of jagged lines

2) when I use the color Picker, I get nothing but black, no matter what color I really select.

3) I experience the same thing as reported in bug #19117: with the pallettes not working. Someone is already working on this part in that bug report so The main things are 1 & 2.

I had similar problems last year when I tried MyPaint. I would be shocked if these problems where unsolved for over a year because then how would mac users be able to use it? So maybe there is already a solution and someone can explain how to make it work.
