notes to self :

  • this is not due to events, modifying the FD's animation in core to have the effects shows the same bug
  • it linked to the lack of image= tag. adding it to an anim makes it work (both adding a standing anim in core or in events

workaround : add an image= when adding an animation based on a default anim.

Sun Aug 26 08:08:06 2012, original submission:

Larger-than-hex standing units with certain AnimationWML frame effects such as opacity or color blending glitch a lot when hexes adjacent to their actual location glitch a lot, with some parts disappearing entirely for a few display frames.

This affects both Wesnoth 1.10.3 and 1.10.4, and trunk (even 1.11.0), so I don't think it's strictly related to bug #20098.

Steps to reproduce:

- Edit the test scenario adding the attached WML event to it
- Create a Fire Dragon
- Select the Fire Dragon. After the selection animation plays, the Fire Dragon will be tinted lilac (magenta when selected; the color change is of course normal).
- Now unselect the Fire Dragon and start moving the mouse over the adjacent hexes so the hex mouse-over overlay (the golden hex frame) intersects the Fire Dragon's area. You will see that portions of the Fire Dragon's frame will be erased and (seemingly randomly) appear again after some further tinkering with the hex mouse-over.
- If you then create another Fire Dragon, it will not have any frame effects applied and thus will not glitch (bug #20098 notwithstanding).
