[This is a canned response, please forgive the broken formatting: it's one of the many things Gna! unfortunately does not do well.]

This bug tracker will shortly be moving to Github. As part of this process, we are reviewing old bug reports on gna.org.

This bug was marked as Fixed long ago, but was still classified as Open. Github does not distinguish between Fixed+Open and Fixed+Closed in the
way we once did here, so this bug is now being marked Closed, and will not be migrated into the github issues tracker.

If you believe that this bug still affects the most recent git master of MyPaint (and thus the next release), please feel free to open a new
issue on Github about it. Our new issue trackers are:

Tagged as a good fix to have in any 1.1.1 we release.

If we ever consider a 1.1.1 release, I think this would be a candidate for that.

http://hintsforums.macworld.com/showthread.php?t=2023 and http://stackoverflow.com/questions/12973311/difference-between-stdlib-h-and-malloc-h suggest that malloc.h is obsolete/deprecated, and it compiles just fine in gcc under Linux with your patch. Pushed, thanks!

Affects the current stable (1.1.0), so keeping as Fixed+Open.

Hello, I'm the maintainer of MyPaint in MacPorts. MyPaint 1.0.0 built fine but 1.1.0 fails with:

On OS X, according to "man malloc", you include stdlib.h, not malloc.h.

This change needed to be made in two files. I'm attaching the patch I made for this, but of course it's not suitable for systems where including malloc.h is needed. Perhaps you'll use some #ifdef to conditionalize this.
