The blank window issue seems to have gone away, you can merge this fix I think.

Thanks. For me, this is sufficient. However, my use case is actually that I need to export the subtitles only from subtitle editor project file, as all other formats are handled natively by the player. As I only use external preview for subtitles that are more fancy then plain srt, I do not mind, as those subtitles for me are always in .ass or .xml anyway. I imagine someone might object.

BTW: would it be possible to make configurable the amount of second before a subtitle that determine when the movie starts playing? Now it is about 4 second, I would much rather have something like 1 or 0,5 (I guess I could pass a bash expression to the command line but, well...)

However, I think it introduced a bug. When I open a ass or xml file (xml file has a player uri tag inside it, no such thing is in the ass file) from nautilus, a blank window of my external player (mplayer) gets opened. Can you reproduce this? I think it did not happend before.

Hi,

Please test the patch.

Improvement in the external player plugin (preferences) :
- Can choose the format
- Can choose to active the new option

Best regards,
kitone

As subtitleditor project is not widely recognized as a subtitleformat, when subtitleeditor passes it to an external video project, it does not get played. An option (or default) to automatically convert it to some other format would be nice as now it just fails silently.
