Fixed in 8b33acca958f1973f760b7749e10758d7fdec426 (ugly Git revision number).

Using git bisect pointed me to r56169 as the commit introducing the bug.

The commit in question is jamit's and it is intended as a bug fix/part of a bug fix for bug #20324, so I am reassigning this bug to him instead.

Although the bug reproduces pretty reliably for me since then, perhaps I should take this opportunity to provide a more specific sequence of steps to reproduce:

- Start the test scenario in debug mode
- Near the center of the map there is an enemy Soulless surrounded by various player-controlled units, including an Elvish Druid. Note her maximum XP (usually 80, 64 when given the intelligent trait).
- Use :unit experience=80 (or 64) while the mouse is over the Druid.
- Attack the ghost at (18, 12) with the Druid from the southern adjacent hex at (18, 13).

Yes, the bug still exists in trunk. You could take 1.11.1 or 1.10.x and compare.

If

The flickering (more specifically, the newly advanced unit being visible without the white tint right in the middle of the unit type transition) is pretty noticeable with an animation speed factor of 1.0x (the default) or 1.75x (what I normally use when playing).

This is probably an unwanted side-effect of changes to the animationWML syntax (I am working with boucman on this).

Is this bug still happening after the last round of animationWML commits? It looks fine to me (testing on 0.25 speed), but I am not sure exactly what you mean by flicker?

Units leveling up or acquiring an AMLA visibly flicker for an instant. I am not completely sure what is going on, but it seems like the levelout [1] (first animation during advancement) animation's tint progression became identical to the levelin animation.

This bug does not affect 1.11.1.

Steps to reproduce:

- Start the test scenario.
- Attack a unit with your playing side's leader. This should trigger one or two AMLA sequences in succession.
