I'm sorry for the delay.

Changing encoding to EUC-JP now shows correct Japanese.
When I confirmed several days ago, I thought it does not work correctly by mistake.

I'm so sorry.

Hi Hiroyuki,

thanks for the info. The problem you have reported is indeed known and will be fixed in a few weeks.

About the manual switch of your browser's encoding: If I specify an alternate encoding to render the page in, the browser does so and discards any information sent by the server. I've tried this with the latest Mozilla. What exactly is the problem you're having with Mozilla and/or Firefox?

Yes, this heppens recently, and I've never seen any Japanese correctly on Gna.

Changing the encoding of browser does not solve this problem because browsers (mozilla and firefox as far as I know) gives priority to server encoding.

Hi Hiroyuki,

did this problem occur just recently? In other words: have you ever been able to view the site with correct Japanese characters in the past?

The translation into Japanese was enabled just a few weeks ago, I guess that you didn't see any Japanese content before then. Is this right?

As you already suspected, the problem is that Apache sends out a header about "ISO-8859-1" encoding, while the Japanese translation is in EUC-JP. This is a known issue and will be fixed with the next release of Savane, which is due in a few weeks.

In the meantime: does manually setting the page's encoding in your browser to EUC-JP resolve the strange characters?

I thinks it is caused by setting of Apache.
To set "AddDefaultCharset" off will fix this problem.

Thanks.
