Why not use cvsps -u username? works very well :-))

Or you could filter the email per user, I do this quite well in Thunderbird.

Or am I not understanding the issue?

It would be nice to have an option which would filter the results so that they were restricted to a single user. That way you could easily tell, "What did Bob do over the past week?".
