I'm sorry if this isn't the right area to say this, but I would really like to have a maya linux plugin exporter for cal3d. I've looked at the source code for the maya exporter and can see that it is very much windows-dependent.

I've tried tackling this myself but without much success as I'm not a programmer at all, I'm just toying with some Makefile from the maya linux SDK :) this linux support should be fairly trivial as maya's source is quite open/platform-independent, because I've ported a blender LSCM UV unwrapper source "roadkill" from windows maya to linux maya in the past but that wasn't as difficult. I can give the maya linux sdk to you's if you need it, I'm pretty sure I'm allowed to do this by reading the source files for plugins.

Thanks all, this is such a great project!
