I agree basically. I can see a few possible solutions. One, make C-c C-x work as expected, editing the task. Two, enable jumping directly to the task by hitting RET on it -- right now it just jumps to the page where the task came from. Three, make a view mode that is read-only, so that the user can't edit the buffer, and give this mode a different name (derive it from planner-mode). This way users won't have the expectation of being able to do everything they can do in a normal planner-mode buffer.

I would actually prefer it if this list-unfinished-tasks function would behave like M-x grep or other "compilation" commands.

I've clarified the documentation of the current behavior, and set this as a wishlist item.

If I list unfinished tasks and then try to mark them as complete from the resultant buffer then nothing happens. C-c C-x is recognised as "planner-task-done" but nothing happens when you invoke it from the minibuffer or keystrokes.

Any buffer created from within planner listing task objects should be subject to the same task object processing as the main planner pages IMO.
