It seems this is a GNUstep bug.

The method "- (void) mouseDown: (NSEvent*)theEvent" in NSMenuView+Hackery is id\entical to the one in gnustep-gui. Is there a reason against throwing it away?

"Pure" GNUstep with mac menu style has the same faulty behaviour. I will try to\ understand the event tracking code there ...

(this is not related to 8571, 8570 or so)

When one for example clicks on "Windows" one must click twice on "Windows" (or other main menu item) to close it again, thrice in case one moves through the other submenus.

This is of course not harmful but annoying.
