as noted this is not posible to implement because the client doesn't have this data, closing this.

The recruit info is now send to the engine logger at the info level. This means it's slightly easier to get the wanted info, but still requires both players to enable the logging.

That is not possible with the current setup. The way it works is 1) You get the checksum from the network. 2) You compare it to your own checksum. 3) They differ. 4) Your program prints out the unit cfg so you can compare it with the remote unit cfg later (assuming the person with the remote cfg is someone willing to assist the bug investigation).

However, I agree there should be some way to invoke a more detailed comparison and print the difference, since that would be very valuable tool for debugging OOS.

When there is a data-missmatch in an mp game when recruiting (IIRC the only time checksums for the units are exchanged) the whole unit config is printed to stderr. I don't know if the own config (does not make much sense since you already have it on your hd) is shown or the one of the oposite side.
If the own data is shown it does not make any sense and should not be printed out. If the one from the oposite is shown, I would prefer just getting a diff to my own data. This way it would be easier to see what exactly is wrong and there would be a little less "textflood" in the output (cf #8941 to get an example of such a flood).
