From the Outside: European Council Presidency Adopts Software Patent Agreement

Item posted by Mathieu Roy <yeupou> on Wed 09 Mar 2005 09:48:02 AM UTC.

News just in from the Banana Republic (http://ue.eu.int/): European Council Presidency Adopts Software Patent Agreement Against Council's Rules (http://wiki.ffii.org/Cons050307En). In response, we return the Gna! mainpage to the dark ages, to remind us where software patents will take us if we do not fight them. Help fight patents now! (http://wiki.ffii.org/)

This announce has replaced the usual front page as protest.

I am collecting all public material I can get (flyer, buttons ...). If you have some nice documents to share, tell me your link.

Try to get attention of the press (posted by Robert Gloeckner, Sun 13 Mar 2005 01:12:01 PM UTC)

There is a little chance left (the EU-parliament).
But still we should try to get some attention int the press.
Some friends and I will try to place a placard and copying knoppixCDs with a special cover.
The cover is a special folded A4/letter paper, so that printing and covering can be done fast and acurate (no need to glue or cut). If there is interest, I can put it into a project-download area.

Ciao,
Robert

P.S.: German cancelor is an idiot/lawyer, but what about french government, why aren't they defending freedom of mandrake?
