Announce: Subversion hosting at Gna! opens

Item posted by Timothee Besset <ttimo> on Fri 18 Mar 2005 08:39:10 PM UTC.

You now have the choice between CVS, Arch and Subversion[1] to manage your source code at Gna!

Here are the features currently available:
- anonymous read via svn://svn.gna.org/svn/$project (TCP 3690)
- anonymous read via http://svn.gna.org/svn/$project (TCP 80)
- viewcvs for svn at http://svn.gna.org/viewcvs/$project
- authenticated read/write access for project members at svn+ssh:// login@svn.gna.org/svn/$project (TCP 22)

If you want to use Subversion for your project, you will need to log into your project administration page, and enable it in the Active Features section. Your project repository will be created on the next hourly cron job.

The same must be done if you want to use GNU Arch - even if you already have an Arch repository.

Please note that while we don't expect any major issues, the Subversion support should be considered beta. Mainly because a number of features are still missing and will be implemented more or less shortly (commit emails and end user documentation).

We will be monitoring the support tracker[2] closely to make sure things are working smoothly.

Note that it is not planned in a near future to allow web homepages at home.gna.org managed with these two Source Code Manager.

Just submit a ticket to the admin project with your repository tarball somewhere and we'll load it up.
