Approaching 0.2
     posted by doublep, Sun Oct 1 14:58:46 2006 - 0 replies

Quarry is approaching its first stable version, 0.2. Since I mostly lost interest in developing in C, most TODO items are postponed for the next development cycle. Versions 0.3+ will be developed in C++ and lots of code is already translated (privately.) The main reason is to ease development with cleaner and more maintainable code. Some slowdown is expected, but nothing drastical.

Quarry 0.1.16
     posted by doublep, Sun Oct 30 18:07:21 2005 - 0 replies

Quarry has finally reached the point where it can be called an SGF editor! Granted, it's not a very advanced editor yet, not even all wrinkles have been smoothened. Still, it should already be quite usable for annotating game records and other editorial stuff.

Give it a try!

GRhino, GTP and Quarry
     posted by doublep, Sun Mar 27 20:29:32 2005 - 0 replies

We now have the first (it seems) freely available non-Go GTP engine. GRhino is a strong GPL'd Othello program by Kriang Lerdsuwanakij. It has its own GUI, but starting with version 0.14.0 also supports GTP and can be used with Quarry.

GRhino can be found at

Good news!

Today I went googling for Quarry, just to tease my pride. And discovered Quarry packaged for a few distros, at least Mandrake and ALT Linux.

Well, I suppose that's good news! Suggests that Quarry user base is somewhat wider than 15 people I thought it was :)

Quarry 0.1.6
     posted by doublep, Sun Aug 15 00:23:30 2004 - 0 replies

Quarry 0.1.6 is released. This version does not have particularly outstanding new features, but it is available for download as a source tarball, unlike previous releases. Give it a try! :)

Quarry-announce mailing list
     posted by doublep, Fri Apr 16 21:53:52 2004 - 0 replies

I have created Quarry-announce mailing list. Announcements about new versions---including unstable ones---of Quarry will be posted there. Those messages will also be posted to Quarry-dev, so you don't need to subscribe to both lists.

Project is registered
     posted by doublep, Tue Apr 13 17:01:31 2004 - 0 replies

Everything basic seems to be set up. Homepage is up and working, mailing list is registered and sources are uploaded to CVS repository.

I have just tagged version 0.1.1 in CVS (as rel-0-1-1). This version is just whatever is ready by the moment of project registration at Gna! Don't expect too much. See Quarry homepage for current feature list and a screenshot.
