Sylvain Beucler discovered that Savane, a 100% free software hosting platform, is vulnerable to a symlink attack on ~/.ssh user directories that may allow the attacker to gain access to other user accounts.

We need people interested in maintaining Savane for distributions like Debian, Fedora extras.

If you think you have the profile, you appreciate Savane enough and want to be involved in Libre Software development and distribution in the long-run, please go ahead, start reading docs of the distributions you use and like and start the packaging work. :)

Now using SVN as source code manager

We decided to change the sourcecode manager from CVS to SVN (see task #2229).

The CVS repository is still available through cvsweb at http://cvs.gna.org/cvsweb/?cvsroot=savane
It has been kept there for historical purpose.

Binary attachments corrupted by UTF-8 conversion

The UTF-8 conversion update script provided in Savane 1.0.7 caused binary attached to items to be corrupted. The relevant packages has been rebuilt to avoid this problem.

If you have already upgraded an installation older than 1.0.7 with the broken scripts and have a lot of binary attachments, please post a comment to bug #2850. ...
