The Gtk3 theme seems very chunky compared to Gtk2 -- my Gtk3 machine is a netbook, so it's very noticeable there. Big scrollbars, big button borders, etc.
Is this intentional?
(Can't get a screenshot right now.)

Initial version of gtk3-cliet Freeciv theme went in as patch #3095, but it's not quite ready yet:
