On a related note, I've got exposing unit_link(), city_link() to scripting API in my TODO.

Some improvements I thought of to the tutorial scenario after playing through it:

  • Building Settlers and limits on doing so
    • city_growth: "may build settlers" => "may complete building settlers"
    • unit_cant_be_built: should note that nothing is lost as a result of not being able to build settlers
    • city_built: first two could possibly note that the suggestion of settlers won't be fulfilled before the city grows, but that's fine
  • Hut explanation could be given when a unit moves next to a hut, rather than waiting until the player has been brave enough to move onto it.
    • Message could also identify the unit which has found the hut.
