As a hobbyist, I have begun the development of Nosica, http://www.nosica.net, a new object oriented programming language in late 2002.
Nosica is developed mainly in Java. Some tools are developed in Perl. The native standard library is developed in C.
I began the project with none or very light notion of compiler theory. I've read several book, I got in touch with several university students (Italian and American and French), subscribed to langsmith and Lambda the Ultimate and I continue to learn a lot about compiler theory, optimisations and the like.
I'd like to bring a high level, and yet, an optimiser compiler.
I run and administrate a Linux server for http/mySql/php/cvs/mail services on the net.
Professionally, I've got a diploma from a French High school, promo 1999 (EFREI), a 5 year study post graduation.
I mostly worked in finance.
I'm mostly a developper (c++, java), I worked a little on distributed systems (CORBA, home made communications protocols, ACE), a little with databases (Versant, mySQL, SQL server, Informix, Oracle).
My current work involves a mix of that plus GUI programming with QT.
Early work in a travel agency led me to design a distributed client/server architecture on Linux. So I like (I mean I really like) system programming.
