Richard Rothwell taught for over 20 years in a variety of schools. While Head of Computing at Handsworth Grammar School he implemented a Free Software network for the school, based on LTSP. This has proved a successful implementation and has been included in two Becta reviews of Free Software in education.
Rothwell is a founder member of Schoolforge UK and a Free Software advocate. He started M6-IT CIC in 2007. M6-IT is a Community Interest Company that works with the voluntary, community and education sectors to deploy sustainable Free Software solutions.
As well as skills in Linux administration, including the ability to read man pages, Rothwell can hack in various programming languages. His preferred languages are Snobol-4, Perl and Python.
