GCfilms won't be updated. Every new features or bug fixes will be implemented in the new project that replaces GCfilms: GCstar, personal collections manager

Presentation

GCfilms is an application for managing your movie collection. Detailed information on each movie can be automatically retrieved from the internet and you can store additional data, such as the location, format and even who you've lent them to. You may also search and filter your collection by criteria such as director, genre, rating and much more.

You can receive an email each time a new version is delivered. You only need to subscribe gcfilms-release mailing list (the linked page contains all information needed for this).

Details (job description, contact ...):

Hello,

As GCfilms is written using Gtk2-Perl, it should work on any systems where this program is available.

For the moment it has only been tested on GN/Linux systems, Win32 (installer provided) and FreeBSD (someone packaged it for this system).

I'd really like to know if it could be used on MacOS X systems.

According to this page:

http://gtk2-perl.sourceforge.net/platforms/

Gtk2-Perl should be available. But it will use X11 and not the native interface.

Some developers created a native version of Gtk2:

http://developer.imendio.com/wiki/Gtk_Mac_OS_X

So it seems that GCfilms could be used directly.

I think the tests will require a good MacOS X experience and some technical knowledges. I will provide all needed support, but I am not familiar at all with these systems.

You may contact me directly ( -unavailable- ) or create a new record on GCfilms page:

https://gna.org/support/?func=additem&group=gcfilms

Thank you.

Tian.
