Status: Open

Adun currently includes tools for the calculation and analysis of several dynamical properties of macromolecules. Several force fields have already been implemented (Enzymix, Charmm and AMBER) and a sophisticated distributed database of simulations results can be directly accessed by the program. Simulation methods currently include Newtonian and Langevin molecular dynamics.

Call for external funding in June 2009

Description: The Computational Biochemistry and Biophysics Laboratory (CBBL) at the Research Unit on Biomedical Informatics (GRIB) is seeking for one motivated researcher with an MSc in Bioinformatics, Biophysics, Computer Sciences or related. The candidate should have a deep interest in mathematical, biophysical and computational developments in the fields of molecular simulations.

The candidate will participate in a 3 years project funded by the Spanish Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación entitled: "Development of an integrated computational protocol for the study of energetics and dynamics of protein complexes formation". The research project will involve the further development of our software tool Adun and its application to protein folding and conformational analysis, with an emphasis in developing and applying coarse grain tools for mesoscopic simulations. The profile of the candidate is wide, including researchers coming from engineering fields, but deep knowledge of C/Objective C and Python is required. Experience on code parallelization is a plus. Holding an MSc is a requisite for those researchers wishing to pursue the PhD program of the Departament de Ciències Experimentals i de la Salut at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra.

Candidates should have a strong profile and academic grades in order to apply for external funding through national and international agencies although depending on the candidate experience funding for up to one year could be provided.

The GRIB/UPF is part of the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (http://www.prbb.org) which, with a privileged location on the shoreline of the Mediterranean sea, constitutes one of the most exciting interdisciplinary research centres in South Europe in one of the fastest growing biomedical research regions in the area.

To apply, please, send a statement of interest, your CV and the name of two referees to whom we may contact for details, stating the Ref PN/A in the subject of the e-mail.
