e-puck - Summary
This project is of Organizational type.
This is the community area of the e-puck project. It provides source code repository,
mailing lists, bugs management, user support and collaborative work management.
The goal of this project is to develop a miniature mobile robot for educational purposes at university level. It has been started at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) as collaboration between the Autonomous Systems Lab (ASL), the Swarm-Intelligent Systems (SWIS) group and the Laboratory of Intelligent System (LIS). Material from the e-puck project is released under the e-puck Robot Open Source Hardware License.
The e-puck robot:
- has a clean and modern structure,
- has a flexible design in order to provide a wide range of use,
- is robust and user friendly,
- is reasonably cheap.
and mainly features:
- a 16 bits DsPIC microcontroller,
- bluetooth and remote control connectivity,
- a VGA camera and a 8-leds ring,
- a speaker and 3 microphones,
- 8 IR range sensors,
- two stepper motors,
- a 3.6 V 1.4 Ah LiIon battery,
- a 3D accelerometer.
