gEnix is a free software for indexing and viewing multimedia contents, like pictures, music files, movies with a powerful search engine. Typical users of gEnix will be professional photographers or anyone dealing with a large amount of photos and multimedia files.
gEnix will run on GNU/Linux and Windows using the <a href="http://www.wxwidgets.org">wxWidgets GUI framework</a>. The search engine will mainly rely on <a href="http://www.sqlite.org">SQLite</a>.
For the pictures part of gEnix, we will take advantage of the <a href="http://www.exif.org">Exchangeable Image File Format</a>.
