PISM simulates the dynamic evolution of ice sheets like those in Antarctic and Greenland, and smaller polar ice caps and paleo-ice sheets.

This gna.org website is for source code hosting, repository browsing, bug-management, and task-management.

See http://www.pism-docs.org for documentation, and all information about PISM. A User's Manual and Installation Manual are available as PDF. See also Ice Sheet Modeling at UAF. PISM uses PETSc and MPI for parallel computation, and a CF 1.4-compliant NetCDF file format.

Support by email to help AT pism-docs.org.

Development of PISM is supported by NASA's Modeling, Analysis, and Prediction program (funded proposal #08-MAP-108, funding period 2009--2013), and formerly by NASA's Cryospheric Sciences program (grant #NAG5-11371, 2003--2008).

Currently the stable0.1 tagged release (Jan 2008) is far enough behind the development branch (trunk) that some non-UAF users are working with the development branch. The main difference is that the SIA+SSA dynamics model documented in the submitted preprint http://arxiv.org/abs/0810.3449 is fully operationa. ...
