The wecena corporate philanthropy manager. - Summary
The wecena project aims at automating the process of managing donations from French corporate philanthropists to nonprofit organizations, including pro bono (free as in beer) IT engineering and consulting services.
It consists in several Plone products which allow a web site to securely manage and publish :
- French corporations and their employees
- nonprofits (charities), their volunteers, employees and projects
- donation contracts between corporations and nonprofits
- volunteer assignments of corporate employees to nonprofit projects
- French tax receipts which materialize donations and allow tax benefits
- collaborative work and knowledge management environments which suit the constraints of pro bono IT services
- dedicated intermediation and support organizations (such as Wecena SARL)
It also includes independent Plone products which offer unrelated features including ZODB/LDAP user synchronization and extreme flexibility in security policies (combining local roles with dynamic groups).
The wecena project is implemented at http://www.wecena.com/
If you can read French, there is some kind of a tutorial for installing wecena on your server :
http://www.akasig.org/2011/02/04/comment-installer-une-plate-forme-wecena/
If you only read English, you'll have to figure out how to install a Plone buildout, then checkout our buildout from the SVN repository then adapt it to your own setup and run it to have wecena products installed. There is some useful doc in the "scripts" folder (see the readme/release management text which has a list of useful dependencies as packages listed at the end of the document).
