Is it possible to use custom rigs (ie, not using the Biped that comes with 3DS Max), in a bug-free manner, with CAL 3D?

I have such a rig, the hierarchy of which can be seen in the image attached. Although some results have been achieved when exporting this with CAL, presently the exported results are not what can be seen in Max. Therefore, in addition to the question above:

Do the control objects (I have used rectangles) have any influence on the animation? For example, the results I’m getting from not exporting these objects are affecting the animation in some way (the results are different), but not in the way I would expect. Excluding some objects seems to not affect the animation, excluding others makes it go crazy.
