Sun Nov 30 16:16:52 2008, original submission:

I'm migrating my old Samba & FDS setup and I've made all
the configuration changes. Running smbldap-populate
worked except for the call to smbldap-passwd to create
the root password saying that the user root doesn't exist.
I can see in the directory that the user does exist.
The problem is consistent if I create other users;
smbldap-useradd -m bozo creates the user bozo in the
LDAP directory, but smbldap-passwd and smbldap-usershow
say that user bozo doesn't exist. Also, if I use the
administrator console for FDS and create a password for
an account created with smbldap-useradd, I can log in
with that account.

Any suggestions?
