Good news :). ALSA settings are supposed to be persistent so, as long as you have turned persistence on, they should survive a reboot.

An update: it turns out that after the edit of alsa config it is actually possible to turn the volume up enough to be hear able. Every slider just needs to be at the very top!

Do I need to install doudoulinux on harddrive for settings to be stored or can it run from USB stick while keeping volume settings from session to session?

I would very much like to hear sound on my childrens installation of Doudoulinux on an Asus EEE PC 900 mini laptop.

The system has found a HDA intel sound chip (which is correct), but I cannot hear any sound (internal speakers or headphones). Changing volume settings does not work.

I have even tried changing the ALSA config file manually as instructed on some forums but no luck.

Can you help me get sound working?
