Thanks for your comment. After reading it, I'm not clear what the Z axis means in this case. I'm not familiar with this sort of plot. Do you mean a 3D plot? If there's an example online or if you could sketch one, it might be helpful.

I would like to make ternary plots of my data:

Gene Name Tissue 1 rank Tissue 2 rank Tissue 3 rank
Gene1 10 25 90

In this analysis, the ranks do not equal 100, they represent a ranking of gene expression from lowest to highest of all genes tested. I want to know how the genes on my list reside within the triangle of the three tissue types. To do this, I need to plot on the Z axis, but see that the ternary plot widget does not have a Z. I read that you might be willing to add Z functionality to Veusz.

I have looked at lots of science stat/plot programs over the last few days and find Veusz to be superior! It is easy to use for beginners like me, but powerful. I'm hoping the "missing" dimension can be added to this great software. I'm actually surprised that ternary plots are useful with 2 dimensions.
