Mails sent by the web frontend are sent using the PHP interface, so you can configure PHP to send mails using SMTP or something.
However we strongly recommand to install a minimal sendmail-like MTA (mail transport agent) such as ssmtp. In general distros provide an easy way to configure the MTA to relay all local mails to your existing mail server on your network, you could also try that.

Hi,

Im tryin to setup savane-3.0+3 (Scientific Linux 5.3), everything works fine. The only problem is that I don't want to setup a local SMTP Server like sendmail or exim. Is there any simple solution to say savane that he should use another mail Server in my Network? Any extra Options for the Config File? Users can't registrate because savane couldn't send the mails.
