<guerby> edwin, yep I've seen it. these errors have been ongoing for many monthes now, I've upgraded kernel/bios/firmware of the raid card, launched diagnostic tools from Dell but nothing ...
<guerby> edwin, the only consequence so far is a few minute freeze every few hours
<edwin> well its a kernel bug too in the ense it shouldn't hang like that even on faulty hardware
<edwin> did you try filing a kernel bug?
<guerby> edwin, no I just looked around for similar issues, other people seem to have it on similar hardware but there was no solution
<guerby> edwin, one issue is that I don't have physical access to the machine so playing with kernel is not easy

I noticed that my Vi hanged and was not killable by kill -9, and I see this in dmesg:
