It's back now but I let the URL as it could be useful (for people that do not want to edit bookmarks but that may not consider the title to be informative enough).

I'll get back the bookmark stuff in a short time but Gna! may not have this fix available as I'll have to get another branch on test and such bugfix will happen on the trunk.

No. I'm sorry it would completely break the "my items" logic and frankly items is what Savane is about, not page bookmarks. It is ok to provide bookmarking feature for people that really wants it but not if it means providing a confusing interface on essential pages. And "what's new" is definitely what we want in first place, not bookmarks.
Especially not bookmarks while the whole system is designed so they are useless (people that added a comment to an item will receive notifications if there's any change; people that got an item assignement or that submitted an item will find the item easily in the My Items page).
A bookmarking system, to be truly useful, would need some classification system. And even usual classification system are considered as broken by design for many reason. Only bookmarks by keywords would be nice. But frankly, adding such complicated stuff in Savane while there is nothing Savane specific about it seems not justified. Just a step in the road of duplicated job.
So I'll put back the edit thing but the url will remains because I'm quite sure some users will not be interested in editing the title and will be satisfied with the info given in the list.
And such bookmark list is not really designed to list 300 differents items.

Of cours, there is some.
Look, my two last bookmarks look like:
# Savane - Bugs: Modify an Item - bugs #1986
/bugs/?reload=1&func=detailitem&item_id=1986
# Savane - Tasks: Modify an Item - task #1412
/task/index.php?reload=1&group=savane&&func=detailitem&item_id=1412
So, in its "natural" representation, it is as useless as it can get: it says almost nothing (at least, nothing, that I could remember), it takes place, it sometime just repeats the information.
I would appreciate, if I could get rid of actual URL (so the list would be more compact), and if I could change the name of the bookmark. For me, the last two would be more useful, if they were looking something like this:
# plurals
# bm
And I would also like the possibility to have them at my first screen, when I log into. They are (partially) the reason why I am logging in.
P.S. If you give more power (witch does not harm the purpose of the program) to the user, then the user certainly appreciates it.

I was wondering if there was a point in allowing their modification. Is there? Isnt it easier and cleaner if it is just about bookmarking a page or removing the bookmark?

Is it possible to edit/modify them?

Bookmarks are back; you need to activate this feature in My Account Conf.

Wow! Are the bookmarks gone?
I am very much in favor to keep this feature.
Of course, I use external bookmarks too, but here, at GNA!, I keep some bookmarks that are irrelevant outside GNA! -- some pointers to open bugs, some projects, some discussions. So the question is -- how flexible Savane is to let user decide where he wants to keep his bookmarks?
Keeping the bookmarks is redundant to almost every browser (if not to all of them), but, as it is already mentioned by Robert Gloeckner <trebor>, when the user keeps some bookmarks on Savane, he does not need to synchronize these bookmarks on several PCs.
And one more argument in favor to keep the bookmarks: when the user saves them here, he does not clutter his bookmark file (with items, that are almost useless outside Savane).
(Sorry, other copy was posted in the wrong place).

Ok, I think the easier solution is to make this a configuration option (use or not use bookmarks).

I would like to keep the bookmark feature.
Things are ordered in the place they belong to.

I'd like to hear what you think of bookmark, how you feel about removing this functionality that is quite redundant with the bookmark directly integrated in web browsers.
Useless features waste time and reduce UI lisibility.
So unless this feature appears to really have a purpose, and is not only a duplicate, I'll remove it (I will probably preliminary do so on the branch I'm toying with (I would not call what I'm currently doing work)
