Wed 21 Sep 2005 03:43:41 PM UTC, original submission:
In addition to the interesting manuals provided by savane doc, we\'d need to be provide \"recipes\", howtos, just to perform some actions.
We are likely to create a new kind of tracker, relying on the common tracker code, that will be called something like \"FAQ Manager\" or \"Doc Manager\", whatever.
Project people will be able to post items like with other trackers, but fields will not be modifiable by them.
They\'ll have to select a category for their item, a rank, to say to which kind of users it should be shown (project members, technicians etc), to say to which pages in savane it relates.
Once submitted, the item will be still modifiable in this \"original submission\", that would be the content of the item, while the summary will be the title.
To trash the question: open/close.
It will also allow people external from the project to propose entries.
Once an item is accepted, it will be included in items cleanly organise on the front page of the project \"Documentation\". Plus, depending on the fields values, questions will show up in a small box, in the left menu, like help show up in MS Word, if the context is relevant.
For instance, if the project have \"recipes\" for technicians of the bug tracker, this small box should appear in the left menu (or elsewhere, if it\'s cleaner), with a link to the relevant entry.
And indeed, Docs of the Site Admin group will be Site docs, behaving the same way.
The content of this Doc will be up to Sites Admins (and to the projects, for their part), but by default it will provide useful recipes about Savane. \"How should I configure my tracker to do this when this happens...\" etc.
