Thu 13 Dec 2007 07:14:58 AM UTC, comment #2: I was able to : - configure qemu to allow incoming SSH connections with -redir tcp:5555:10.0.2.15:22 - create a SSH key without passphrase that will allow batch connections to the qemu machine - connect to the qemu machine with: ssh -i .ssh/id_rsa -v -p 5555 root@localhost - upload the image to download.gna.org (ETA 4:00) Let's attack the backend! Thu 13 Dec 2007 03:23:14 AM UTC, comment #1: DONE: Xen now works under Qemu. The trick was to avoid using kqemu, the kernel based optimizer of Qemu, because it prevents Xen from working. TODO: - configure Qemu to allow incoming SSH connections - upload the final Qemu image to download.gna.org (1GB+) - write a minimal backend that : - get the specs of the domU from a XML file (use shell+xmlstarlet or python) - create domU (use libvirt, virsh) - destroy domU - write tests that : - downloads the Qemu image from Gna and cache it - boots a copy of the Qemu machine - create XML file - creates a domU - checks that the domU exists ("xm list") - destroy the domU - get 100% code coverage - allow testing the backend with real servers. have a look at kexec to boost the process HINTS: - apt-get source pokerengine to see a real-life python test coverage (make check)	Cyril Bouthors <cyb>
