When run on laptops, DDL should certainly activate frequency scaling to reduce power consumption and increase the laptop autonomy. Although there are polemics concerning recent CPU's (whose idle state would be as efficient as lowering frequency), this may have an interest on older laptops. However we have to take care about effects on the laptop reactivity.
