The map feature should be completely rewritten.

Feature needed:
- arbitrary tile back-end (Google, MS, OpenStreetMap, etc.)
- arbitrary types of (satellite, road, etc.)
- extensible using dynamically loaded soft (to allow LGPL-compatible, custom, closed-source solution)

ModestMaps (written in ActionScript) could serve as an example. See also: http://modestmaps.mapstraction.com/trac/wiki/TileNamingConventions
