Not sure to have time to do this for the next release. Perhaps rather for an intermediary update, say 2011-03.

I rebuilt the CD and this is perfectly OK! You just need to translate “Russian” in the PO file. I added this message to all the Ktuberling PO files.

OK would you please build a new CD then?
Merci.

Ok I didn't understand you were only speaking of the PO file. Indeed my CD build script automatically recompiles the PO files that translators provide. They are then moved to the appropriate place in the CD file system. This avoids me the need to patch each application on the flow, with constantly coming translation files from all our translators.

It won'r work this way - appropriate menu command won't be displayed.
See below.

So yes I just need the audio files, no need to recompile. I won't provide a patched application either, it's too much effort (anyway I think translation files are in a separate i18n package for the whole KDE).

Because of some sounds were missing in a set I got I asked my daughter to help with a new set of sounds.
Result is attached.
Please use new layout.xml and set of sounds instead of old ones.
Merci.

Mmm, not sure to understand… We cannot recompile the latest version of Ktuberling for DDL because it is based on KDE 4 libs that may be buggy in Debian Lenny. I had a discussion on this topic with a developer of a potential replacement for vkeybd called vmpk. His application is also using KDE 4 libs and he recommended not to try to backport his app to DDL…
However this is only the sound files that are missing so there is basically no need to recompile anything, which is better then for the maintenance effort.

I see the problem.
Seems I know how to fix it.
Please recompile app with attached PO file.
Then
1. add attached ru directory to /usr/share/apps/ktuberling/sounds
2. replace /usr/share/apps/ktuberling/pics/layout.xml with attached file
3. replace /usr/share/apps/ktuberling/ktuberlingui.rc with attached file
Now you may try yourself without building a new CD.
Luck!

Unfortunately the tarball you got is for a much newer version and is lacking some audio files. You have two options: either find the files for a version closer to the DDL version or re-record the files. Concerning the PO files, it was already 100% translated.

A page about translating Ktuberling in any language?
|
Fri 14 Jan 2011 08:29:10 AM UTC, comment #1:
Good work! Indeed I don't need the install instructions, I'll copy them in their final place in the file system, just as noticed for Gentoo. Did you have the curiosity to seek for other languages on their website? Maybe I can write a script to fetch many languages automatically.
NB: I think you can start to write a page about translating Ktuberling.
